As a Federation of Member Associations, we work in over 170 countries with the most vulnerable women, men and young people to access life-saving services and programmes and to live with dignity. IPPF’s 30,000 staff, along with millions of volunteers, campaign for sexual and reproductive health rights and deliver education and services through 45,000 service points. IPPF’s Secretariat comprises of Central Office in London, with Regional Offices across the globe. 

IPPF’s Director General, Dr Alvaro Bermejo brings vision, passion, innovation and energy to IPPF and is currently leading IPPF in reaching its challenging goals over the next few years.  IPPF is now seeking to appoint a new Africa Regional Director to join its Executive team in leading and supporting IPPF and the Director General at this exciting time.

The Regional Director is responsible for leadership and management of the Region, advancing the Strategic Framework (2016-2022), and will be the Chief Executive Officer of the Federation for the Africa region (IPPFAR). This individual will also be an advocate and thought-leader for SRHR across 42 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

IPPF is seeking a senior international health or development professional, with significant experience and interest in SRHR, Human Rights and related fields. That must include experience of complex operational leadership and people management of large teams, and experience of reporting to a Board. The successful candidate will have a track record of effectively working with donors in the international development sector, and proven experience of networking to build partnerships and donor relations. They must have extensive knowledge of developing countries, particularly within Africa, and strong knowledge of the international political environment, particularly in that Region.
